The best in independent film will be honored Saturday at the 2008 Independent Spirit Awards, the last awards to be handed out before the Oscars, and may give a clue to some of the winners there.
The 2008 Independent Spirit Awards, which are actually known these days as Film Independent's Spirit Awards, will be give out at a live ceremony in L.A. that will be televised on the Independent Film Channel at 5 p.m. Eastern.

The nominees for Best Feature are: The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, I'm Not There, Juno, A Mighty Heart, Paranoid Park.
