Concert Notes: Tickets for The Postal Service, Mudhoney, fun., Aimee Mann, & More on Sale This Weekend

Just a quick post here with links to a bunch of interesting concerts going on sale Friday, Feb. 16th, and a few that go up for grabs Saturday. Among the offerings: 'the innovative 70s-and-beyond rock performer and producer Todd Rundgren, !!!, Foals, Youth Lagoon, the return of Mudhoney, and Kurt Vile.

fun. plays two summer nights in July with Tegan and Sara.

Also, The Postal Service has added another show at the Barclays Center; Aimee Mann returns to New York; and fun., fresh off its Grammy wins, will play two shows in July at Pier 26 on the Hudson River (with Tegan and Sara on the bill).

Tickets go on sale tomorrow for concerts reaching all the way into next April, including indie acts such as Matisyahu, !!!, and Purity Ring as well as mega-sellers fun. and Muse. Most of them go on sale at 12 Noon, but check below for specific times. (Purity Ring went on sale yesterday.)

NYC Concert Notes: Tickets for K'Naan, Fun., David Johansen On Sale Friday

And for music fans in the upper Westchester area, there's good news in that the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester has reopened and has a full slate of concerts. Bob Dylan opened the new Bowery Presents venue earlier this week, and upcoming events include Buddy Guy and Jonny Lang (Sept. 9th), The Roots and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band (Sept. 14th), The J. Geils Band (Sept. 19th), and Regina Spektor and Only Son (Oct. 3rd). (See Capitol Theatre upcoming shows here.)

Although Port Chester isn't very close to me (unless I'm visiting friends in Westchester or Connecticut), it's great to see another music venue opening in the greater NYC area. For a long time in New York, you only heard about clubs closing down; it's good to hear of new ones coming online.
