BREAKING: Conan O'Brien Returning to Late Night at TBS

Conan O'Brien will be returning to late night TV in November, according to news reports and the comedian himself. But Conan's return won't be at Fox, as many people guessed, but at at TBS. That network currently has George Lopez's talk show at 11 pm; when Conan O'Brien arrives, he will take over that time slot and Lopez will move to midnight.

In a statement O'Brien said, "In three months, I've gone from network television to Twitter to performing live in theaters, and now I'm headed to basic cable. My plan is working perfectly."

Apparently Fox thought it might have trouble convincing its affiliates to go along with Conan O'Brien at 11 pm, because the stations make good money from the reruns they air at that hour. TBS had initially been cool to the idea of going after O'Brien, but talks heated up in the last few weeks.
